3D ASSETS & TEXTURE

3D WORK // 3D PRINTING // ASSET DEVELOPMENT

If there was a medium I felt I had a lot of hold and confidence in, It would probably be 3D modelling and asset development.

It does not matter if it is for conceptual design, game asset development, organic poly modeling, to low poly design, I love working in 3D. I have over thousands of hours in Blender alone, and I started on Blender long before it ever came to the public consumption.

3D modelling was for me the "final boss" in art & design that I wanted to learn, and I put a lot of time and effort into learning the program, how to model properly, retopology, and a lot of other technical aspects that goes along with it. I am still learning today as we speak.

It is strange to look at my progress over the years, and how I've grown in this medium. I originally learned 3D to get into the game industry as an environment artist. This is still a goal I have reached, But I have since branched out into different uses in 3D. A lot of companies are utilizing 3D and real time game engines to create marketing material for their products.

Not only has this been a strong medium specifically to advertise products, but It has also been used now a days for fashion design, pattern making, product concepting, and packaging planning as well.

3D has become such an important part of many industries now just to stand out. It is cost effective for advertisement, makes more sense to conceptualize product design and testing with 3d printing, and even for creating clothing and making sure everything fits properly is a milestone in my opinion.

What makes 3D work so appealing to me, is the ability to do whatever I need to do in it for basically any medium. If I can't get a perspective down for a design or illustration, I can simply 3d model it out, screenshot it, and use that as a reference. Even using it for kitbashing purposes to create mix media pieces helps quite a bit when you can create things in 3D first.

Another great use for this is 3D Printing as well. If I need a part made, or need to repair or improve something in the real world, I can simply 3d model it, scale it to real world measurements, and print it out for use now. Its amazing to me how versatile 3D Modelling has become. I have even created pieces for clients that were used in jewelry design, such as rings in silversmithing, along with props for cosplay accessories, masks, and so much more.

While most of my stuff has been 3D assets for games, sculpting, and product concepting, I have worked in renders using evee, cycles, and in the base of the unreal engine using their new nanite technology and lumin.

I like display pieces, but I feel they are only serving specific purposes other than outside of product placement renders, and conceptual design for form factors and what not.

I do enjoy how some Of my main pieces come out when they are highly rendered with lighting and bloom (more coming soon) but I usually build 3d work with an intended purpose overall.

Lately, outside of client and business work, I work more in 3D for 3d printing services. I feel there is so much utility and things you can do with 3D outside the general uses in software, IT, and game design.

In time, I hope to have sculptures and intricate pieces being more accessible and on peoples shelves as display pieces if I can.

I love the idea that I am mixing my 3d work with 3d printing, and hand painting sculptures and designs I make for those who want them.
